My name is Kanu Priya and I hail from Amritsar, Punjab. I began my medical journey at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, where I completed my MBBS. I went on to pursue my MD in Internal Medicine from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, Delhi. I completed my DM in Medical Oncology from AIIMS, New Delhi. 

As a medical oncologist, my role is not limited to writing chemotherapy protocols or prescribing medicines. My first responsibility is to help you truly understand your diagnosis — what type of cancer it is, what stage it is in, how aggressive it appears, and what that realistically means for your life and future.

Many patients come to me overwhelmed with questions: Do I need surgery first, or should we start with chemotherapy? Is radiation necessary? Will immunotherapy help in my case? Is a bone marrow transplant something I should be considering? These are not small decisions. Each treatment has a purpose, a timing, and a scientific reason behind it. My job is to break down complex medical information into clear, understandable guidance so you are never making decisions blindly.

I also believe in discussing what people are often afraid to ask — what side effects to expect, how treatment may affect your daily routine, your work, your fertility, your energy levels, and your family life. Cancer treatment is not just about targeting disease; it’s about planning for real life alongside it.

Every cancer is different, and more importantly, every person is different. The right treatment plan is not just about guidelines — it’s about tailoring those guidelines to you. I am trained to guide you through these decisions with evidence, clarity, and honesty, so that you feel informed, supported, and confident at every step.
